Galmstrup Architects are a design-led practice specialised in cultural and community projects. Our work revolves around the civic sphere, varying in scale from designing and building museums, galleries, exhibitions and community centers, to strategic masterplanning of cultural districts, heritage sites and entire landscapes.

With 20 years of international experience working with cultural projects as architects, planners and advisors, we lead multidisciplinary design and client teams forward often in complex settings and on sensitive projects with many stakeholders.

We listen and engage with our clients, their culture, collections and communities. We design, develop and deliver projects centered around people and rooted in the narrative of a place. We are inspired by local cultures, methods and craftsmanship. We achieve pragmatic solutions with a sensible approach and always together.

Services

Design - We design and take projects through planning. Develop the technical drawings and details ready for construction. We established procurement routes and secure the relevant statutory construction permits. We coordinate the design team, liaise with contractors and perform site inspections ensuring the shared outset is implemented and quality are delivered on time and to budget.

Strategy - We work client side ensuring briefs, visions and values come to fruition on projects. We advise and develop strategic masterplans and/or feasibility studies. We do this for, and in close collaborations with, cultural institutions and national organisations, governments and councils, local communities and private developers. We do this to help initiate, plan and move ideas forward into implementable projects.
